After spending a week in Minnesota, my Clubman has been busy making it’s way towards Chicago. The Wallenius Wilhelmsen vehicle carrier, Parsifal, arrived in Baltimore on June 27th, and I my Clubman was unloaded a few hours later. On Sunday, the MINI Owners’ Lounge updated to show that she had made her way to the Vehicle Distribution Center. Based on that knowledge, I figured the earliest I could take delivery of my new MINI would be Friday, July 5th…if not Monday, July 8th.
However, earlier this afternoon, I received a phone call from my Motoring Advisor at Knauz MINI that my Clubman had arrived, and was ready to be delivered! Meaning it took less than 4-days for my MINI to go from the Parsifal cargo ship, through the Vehicle Distribution Center, then released from the VDC and shipped to Chicago. That is impressive. That same process took over 2-weeks when I ordered my 2003 MINI Cooper S.
Unfortunately, we cannot make it over to the dealership tonight, so we are scheduled to take delivery tomorrow at 6:30pm. Tomorrow is going to be a long day. A very long day.
