Professional

I have rebooted this website few times over the years, but I’ll be making a concerted effort to make this my “hub” online…a platform for my photography, social media, and rambling blog posts that are probably of importance to nobody. Hopefully, I can grow it into something I manage to keep updated regularly.

For the decade plus a few years, I have been done a little bit of everything in the world of education IT. These days (with an occasional evening, night, or weekend mixed in for good measure), I am the Network Manager at a nationally recognized, four-time Blue Ribbon Award winner for Excellence in Education, in the northern suburbs of Chicago. There, I am responsible for all aspects of of the district’s network and server infrastructure, as well as it’s operations…well, with the help of some very good people that is. In short, I am the man behind the curtain making sure all the ones and zeros are moving properly so that our employees and students can view their YouTube videos, post on the latest social media platform, and do whatever it is that kids do these days on the Internet – all in the name of education, of course!

 Personal

Away from work, I am an artist and designer at heart. I attended the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), in the historic and beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design.

After graduation, I took a job in education IT, where I have done a little bit of everything…helpdesk support, workstation support, server administration, network administration, website design and management, etc. If you’re wondering how an art school graduate ends up working in IT…well, when I figure that out, I’ll let you know.

When I am not working, I still have that creative/artistic itch to scratch, so you can typically find me with my camera in hand, or in the bag slung over my shouldert. Over the past few years, photography has become one of my passions, and I have tried to learn as much as possible, and improve my craft.

You will also find I am an avid MINI Cooper fan, having owned two since 2003. One of the things I will be trying to do better at is keeping a log of my MINI adventures.

The rest of the time…I am a self-described Mac Geek, occasional designer, Tweeter (@sdiver), car guy, MINI Cooper enthusiast, Formula One fan, music lover, sometimes guitar player, aspiring chef, dog lover, and most importantly, the father to an amazing pair of children, and husband to a beautiful wife.
