Clubman Status: Delivered!

My New 2013 MINI Cooper S Clubman

It’s new MINI day! Well, new MINI Clubman day to be precise.

Upon arriving at Knauz MINI to take delivery, my new Pepper White & Black Clubman was sitting on the showroom floor, looking fantastic, with a SOLD placard under the driver’s side wiper.

Back in 2003, when I purchased my first MINI, it seemed to take hours to sign all the necessary paperwork. Thankfully, we had been pre-appoved for everything, so the paperwork only took 15-20 minutes to complete. Jason, my Motoring Advisor, took another 20 minutes to show me the ins and outs of my new MINI, most of which I was already familiar.

Rolling off the dealer lot, she has 7 miles on the odometer…one less mile than my 2003 MINI and when I drove her of the dealer lot. I only hope this Clubman is at least half as good a car as my R53 had been.

So without further adieu…here are a few photos of my new Clubman, sitting in the driveway at home…

Naturally, I already have a list of things I want to do to her, bouncing around my head…an NM Engineering turbo heat shield, OEM MINI mud flaps, shorty antenna, glove box organizer, JCW blacked out grille trim, blacked out headlight trim, window tint…to name a few.

Clubman Status: Almost Mine

After spending a week in Minnesota, my Clubman has been busy making it’s way towards Chicago. The Wallenius Wilhelmsen vehicle carrier, Parsifal, arrived in Baltimore on June 27th, and I my Clubman was unloaded a few hours later. On Sunday, the MINI Owners’ Lounge updated to show that she had made her way to the Vehicle Distribution Center. Based on that knowledge, I figured the earliest I could take delivery of my new MINI would be Friday, July 5th…if not Monday, July 8th.

Clubman Status: En Route, For Real This Time

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics’ Parsifal - Phoyo Mick Prendergast

After being bumped from the Endurance last week, I have been periodically checking the Wallenius Wilhelmsen website to see the status of my Clubman. After a week of seeing nothing but, RETURNED TO SHIPPER status, yesterday, the Wallenius Wilhelmsen website showed that my VIN number had been booked on the next vehicle carrier leaving Southampton for Baltimore…the Parsifal. Then, this morning, I saw the magic status, LOADED ON VESSEL.

The Parsifal’s started it’s voyage to Baltimore at about 3:00pm CST, and is scheduled to arrive in Baltimore on June 27th.

Clubman Status: En Route Awaiting Transport

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics’ Endurance - Photo by Rich English

UPDATE June 11, 2013: So yeah, apparently my Clubman isn’t exactly en route. I checked the status of my Clubman on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics website this morning, and found that it has been bumped from Endurance. So, it looks like she will get to spend a few more days in Southampton. I have heard that if a vehicle is bumped from a cargo ship it has priority on the next vessel. Hopefully, it will be rebooked on the Parsifal cargo ship, which is the next Wallenius Wilhelmsen vehicle carrier leaving Southampton. It departs Southampton on June 18th, and arrives in Baltimore, MD on June 27th.

Clubman Status: Production Complete

Since receiving my Clubman’s Production and VIN Numbers, I have been checking it’s status at least twice a day on the MINI Owners’ Lounge. Since May 30th, the Owners’ Lounger status has read, Scheduled For Production. On Friday, June 7th, the status finally changed to read Awaiting Transport. Since the MINI Owners’ Lounge is typically 24-48 hours behind reality, my Clubman finished production on June 5th or June 6th.
